The Shimano Talica 2 Lever Drag Reel is ideal for fly-lining live baits. This powerful, smooth two-speed reel surpasses most others. Handling big fish on small drags seems contradictory, but Talica 2's design combines the strength of lever drags with casting ease. We aimed to create a 2-speed reel capable of casting a sardine 40 feet, boosting drag power for heavy lines like PowerPro and fluorocarbon. Inspired by HEG technology, it offers fast line pickup and immense cranking power—gaining around 2 feet instead of a few inches on deep tuna. Features include a compact, high-capacity, corrosion-resistant, cold-forged aluminum frame, machined parts, lightweight spool, greaseless bearings, large torque drag washers, waterproof system, silent anti-reverse, ergonomic handle, preset clicker, 2-speed HEG, and compatibility with various lines.

The Talica 20ii CAM and the Talica 25ii CAM both come with the Mono Drag Cam for the light line on big fish. This is usually used for billfish when light line and more capacity are desired. For most anglers, the cam that is installed at the time of purchase is well suited for most fishing applications.
